You are now chatting with a random person! Say hello! The epitome of my boredom brought me to this site, since my hours and hours spent fixing Wikipedia pages could only go so far until I started editing them for fun again. Whoever this person is, oh I hope it's a person, a little icon appears letting me know they're typing. What do I say? Initiating these conversations became a mundane task, which over time taught me that I shouldn't be the first to initiate it. I open another tab and idly search for a Wiki page that needs some editing. Whoever this person is, it will definitely take them a while to compose the message. Abraham Benisch seems interesting, I muse, so I waste a few seconds briefly scrolling through the first few hundred articles about him to learn more. After learning how and what he studied in medicine, I open his Wiki page and start editing and correcting the little information there. The chat site informs me that the person finally messaged me.Buddy: heyyyyyyyyBuddy: asl?Age/Gender/Location. The first time someone sent it to me, it took some miscommunication and web searching to fully understand what it meant to people. It usually takes me a minute to compose a new character, maybe someone interesting in Indonesia. I'll look up popular first and last names if I need to, and I'll Google some random groupings of cities to say where I live. But I've done it thousands of times on hundreds of sites. Sure, it was fun, when my main fun was hacking security codes just to see if I could. Now it was simply a monotonous task, and I usually stick to the same person now. Ally. It's simple and easy to believe. You: 16/female/australia You: you? To be honest, I don't foresee this...... middle of paper ...... my name Not even his real name. I have a little over twenty tabs open and maybe three conversations on different sites with different people. The webcam is on and I'm looking at my messed up little body so that maybe, months from now, I can finally wear it. Perhaps. I exit all tabs except one and leave the webcam on. You: I'm not even human You: I'm just a program You: I don't even have a name or eyes. I use cameras to see and microphones to listen, but it's useless when I can just search online and do things thereYou: If I went to Abraham Benischs Wikipedia right now, you would see a newly edited page that I just worked on while chatting with youYou: Do me do you think? There is a few seconds delay. Buddy: umBuddy: okay then? I really don't know how to answer Buddy: I'm just saying that your friend has disconnected! Press Enter to start a new chat!
