Perception, motivation and leadership are three very important concepts of organizational behavior. Various studies and theories underlying these principles arose many years ago when people began to observe the influence and development of organizational behavior. Therefore, in today's modern organizational environment, subject to globalization, multicultural contribution, technological and economic changes, a deeper understanding of the behavior of people within the organization is vital. This case study examines the behavior of an abrasive consultant, Julia, and how an unpleasant event within the organization evolves, as do the actions of Julia's manager, Cathy. The concepts of perception, motivation and leadership are applied to the case study and influence the normal operations of the organization. Relating theories of organizational behavior to practice is not an easy task, but it is essential to prevent and overcome conflicts that may occur and establish an effective and happy work environment. According to Fisher (2010), happiness at work is influenced by transitory factors such as task enjoyment, by personal-level factors such as job satisfaction and involvement, and by unit-level factors such as task satisfaction. Furthermore, individuals' personalities have a strong impact on the work environment. For starters, the way people and situations are perceived within an organization differs significantly from person to person. Pomerantz (2003) describes perception as a complex sequence of processes through which information can be received, organized and interpreted. In relation to the case study, Cathy, Julia and the client perceive each other and circumstances differently such as the unpleasant scene in the company... middle of paper... in interpersonal relationships.
