It is evident from past data that least developed countries (LDCs) are highly dependent on the agricultural sector for their survival and that agriculture contributes significantly to their GDP. So the growth rate depends heavily on agriculture, which cannot be increased without improving the agriculture department. According to the Economic Survey of Pakistan (2011-2012), agriculture contributes about 21% to Pakistan's GDP. Rabi and Kharif are the two harvest seasons of Pakistan. Kharif crops are grown from May to October while Rabi crops are grown from November to April.
