Americans Pay More, But Get Less for Health Insurance: Should Quality Health Care Be Available Only to Those Who Have the Money to Buy It? According to the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, some disparities in health care quality exist based on race and ethnicity. Disparity in quality. Although quality problems affect all populations, they may be more pronounced for members of racial and ethnic minorities. Researchers at the University of Alabama at Birmingham examined the use of thrombolysis (“clot busters”) for patients who had suffered a heart attack and found that while this evidence-based, life-saving treatment was underused for everyone, there were significantly fewer black Medicare beneficiaries. White people are more likely to receive this treatment. Opportunities for good health ignore many of us every day. If we were all rich we would all have good healthcare because we could afford it. Being healthy and living a healthy lifestyle can be expensive. For most people, good health may not be achievable due to economic circumstances. In most situations being healthy has nothing to do with color or zip code. However it has everything to do with money or lack thereof. The country is divided over Obamacare, even though it is needed, it is just a band-aid covering the wounds of many Americans sending a message to other countries that America takes care of itself. However, Obamacare is not the tool to end this health crisis. millions of people go without healthcare and billions are spent and wasted on repeated visits to doctor's offices and emergency rooms that offer drugs to cover the symptoms and not to treat the cause... half the paper... queues and so on that they can be served with rice, beans, ramen, or other inexpensive starchy foods to ensure that one is satisfied after eating. In many cases this will be the only meal of the day. Studies have shown some of these communities have increased exposure to lead, disease-carrying rodents and insects, and mold, which can lead to asthma and other serious health problems. Throughout history people of color have been singled out and isolated in communities that repeat cycles. poverty through inadequate schools, lack of jobs, poor housing opportunities and lack of adequate healthcare. This is why poor health outcomes exist. Often due to economic situations it is not possible to choose the type of lifestyle you live. Therefore, very often you simply become a product of the environment according to the circumstances.
