Academic Program Evaluation With this continuous and rapid development in our world; change is necessary and must be the beginning of education. In our education system we provide many academic programs to students, teachers, educational supervisors or others. It is obvious that evaluation of these academic programs is very significant for achieving better results. Furthermore, it is a very important part of the development of an educational process in all its aspects. At some point, educators will need to evaluate an educational program to determine its value and achieve an appropriate outcome. Therefore, numerous teacher education committees and accreditations have emerged recently. I find this topic very interesting to write a short article and maybe do research about it in the future. There are many different evaluation standards for evaluating academic programs. Some researchers rely on their own standards that they have designed to evaluate academic programs. Others conduct their evaluation based on professional program standards such as the NCATE standards in teacher preparation evaluation programs or other standards that seek to evaluate other types of programs. If you intend to evaluate an educational program you should ask yourself two questions; Whose opinion matters? And what would be truly meaningful to them? (David, 2010). These leading questions are very important because your methods, tools and approaches will be different based on these leading questions. The purpose of the assessment and the most appropriate type of assessment will depend on the answers to these two key questions. Some researchers use the words “evaluation” and “evaluation” with the same meaning. However, I agree with Cook (2010) as he prefers…middle of the paper…and all the time. Supervisors and teachers should work together to understand the outcome of these assessments and try to work on areas where they can help improve it. In evaluation standards there are some standards are organized into four groups which are: utility standards, feasibility standards, property standards and accuracy standards. There are differences in the organization of the standards. One of the most famous assessment standards are the NCATE standards which are professional standards for the accreditation of teacher education. The Mission of NCATE Standards is the national professional accrediting agency for schools, colleges, and departments of education that prepare teachers, administrators, and other professional education personnel (NCATE). Evaluators could use these standards to measure any academic programs that prepare teachers.
