As many of us can agree, we spend a significant amount of time indoors, so it is very important to consider and study the lighting factor when designing to create a comfortable environment. Furthermore, since we spend most of our time indoors, it is necessary to design so that natural light is brought into suitable spaces so as not to lack naturalness and lightness, especially during daylight hours. It is indisputable that lighting is not easy to diffuse with design in order to create a comfortable environment. Different spaces have different complexities in lighting them, but usually living spaces such as bedrooms and living rooms are more difficult to design lighting for them than designing utility areas such as bathrooms, offices and kitchens. The reason is that it is more difficult because it should be designed for various activities in these rooms, with the overall emphasis on atmosphere and mood with infrequent tasks to be performed in such spaces. Since a human being has no exposure to nature light can negatively affect mood and productivity, the spaces where one spends most of the time are usually intricately designed to have natural light to benefit from and artificial light for times when natural light is not obtainable. Therefore, when designing spaces such as offices, natural light represents a great advantage as it can make a big difference in terms of productivity. The purpose of this document is to differentiate the difference and pros and cons of types of lighting, natural and artificial, and try to save energy by finding a strategic approach to using less lighting. The problem is that most people believe that artificial lighting is the solution because it requires less work. But this is the wrong approach, as I will demonstrate throughout… half of the document… it's perfect but there are always solutions you can look at to evaluate your options. That said, many people are discouraged from relying more on natural light, especially during the day, for several reasons, such as bringing heat into the indoor space or not being able to fully illuminate the room. Fewer partition walls and even glass walls can easily be used for public spaces. But a simple and innovative solution is lightweight shelves; which I will explain later. Such techniques not only help to allow natural light to fill the interiors using graceful ambient lighting but also enhance the space design of your venue. It also triggers a big difference in the mood and productivity of people throughout the space.
