I entered my bedroom and closed the door behind me. As usual, TreFual was lying on my desk. "Hey convict, how's the tricks going?" “Not bad,” I should have guessed he knew “I brought you some steak.” I said, gesturing with the Styrofoam box in my hand. TreFual jumped off the desk and suddenly had my size. "How do you do it?" "Easy, the same way you shape shifts. I'm capable of doing more with what I have." Taking the box from my hands, he walked back to my desk and sat down. “So why do you stay 8 inches tall most of the time?” "Especially because I think it's funny. Now shut up and let me eat." I grabbed a novel from the shelf and lay down on the bed to enjoy some reading while TreFual ate. Finally, closing the box, he threw it into the bin. “Did you like it?” “I like my steak a little more well done, but I liked it. Thanks, kid.” Lighting a cigarette, TreFual leaned back in his chair. "You did well today. We're lucky the girl didn't die." "Karen?" "Nah, I don't give a damn about her. talking about the person you hit. If I had hit her just a little harder she would have died and that would have been a bad thing." I stood up and asked, “Why?” "You can't afford to be publicly associated any murder goes against the image we are building. It's okay that you hurt her, but killing is a no, no." He paused for a moment "I'm telling you kid, because you did so well today, I think you deserve some rest and relaxation, so I'm going to cancel practice tonight. Go out and have fun or something." "Great, thanks!" I still had questions but I swallowed them. Because, if I asked a fool, TreFual would not only cancel R&R, but give me double the work as punishment. I immediately went down the stairs and to... middle of the paper... est a week. I offered to get her homework. Mrs. Chang appreciated it. Karen doesn't. I realized it was time to go. Mrs. Chang and I exchanged numbers before leaving. On the way home, I stopped to price out some upholstery work. My father and I decided to have the seats on the Pantera redone. I think my dad loved this car almost as much as I did. To be honest, working on it together took our relationship to a whole new level. After waiting for about 30 minutes. Richard, the shop owner, was able to take a look and evaluate the work. He gave me the estimate. I told him I would talk to my father about it and get back to him. We shook and I went out. I walked around for a bit but there wasn't much to do. It was a school day so I couldn't get into any of the fun places until 3pm. I went home to see what was for lunch.
