Should abortion be illegal?EGR 104 Critical InquiryMichael Esqueda4/1/2014Abortion is defined as: “the termination of pregnancy and the expulsion of an embryo or fetus incapable of survive". However, if only the abortion debate were as simple as the definition provided above. Just like every aspect of human life, a statement is neither right nor wrong, but is simply left up to interpretation. There are no black and white areas, only gray areas. Some problems tend to provide us with more gray areas than others. Abortion is a great example of this. Those who reject abortion argue that it is the murder of a defenseless child who has not yet had the chance to live and function as a human being. However, the opposite debate is equally fervent: it is a woman's right to choose what happens to her body, and if she decides she is unable to give birth to a child, she should not be forced to go out. of nature. Where do we draw the line between human and inhuman, between necessary death and murder? When does a woman's right to her internal reproductive organs become that of the government? Is abortion right or wrong? Are rape, incest and the potential death of the mother exceptions when abortion is “ok”? Are we really there? There are so many questions raised by such a fervent debate, that we need to look at both sides of the issue to understand it better in a general but in-depth approach. As expected, there are many people who oppose abortion. These groups are called “pro-life” groups, essentially defending the life of the child rather than a woman's right to choose. Groups like Human Life International (HLI), The Christian Coalition and many others......half of the paper......what you choose to understand those gray areas is what will ultimately answer your personal questions about morality, or on the lack of abortion. I believe abortion is against the word of God, in most cases. In the case of rape or incest I think that a woman, or a girl, should be able to choose.
