Behaviorist theory is a theory of psychology that emerged in the early 20th century as a response to a series of predictions regarding observable behaviors. Most of the theory focused on the behavior of animals and humans, on observable physical behavior, not on unobservable events. Psychologists believe that we as students start with a clean slate and our behavior is shaped by the environment we are brought and raised in, therefore, our behavior is shaped by positive and negative factors that we create as we grow in our environment. Our observable behavior is linked to our thinking and the emotions we emit. Psychologists have studied that there is little difference recorded between the thoughts and emotions that occur in the mind of a human being and those of animals. An individual has no free will and his environment determines the type of behavior he has. The environment in which everyone lives teaches the behavior that individuals have.
