There was always fear for life due to civil war and political unrest, where bombs exploded in public places and cities were attacked. My father was a government official, so there was always an added risk. We moved to the city and my family of four lived in a rented studio apartment. My father came to the United States to study and my family had to stay away from my father for 4 years. Then I came to the United States with my mother and brother. It was a really huge change. It was a very different country and a very different culture. It came with its challenges and took a couple of years to work through them
