The park called Euro Disney, also known as Disneyland Paris, opened in 1992, should have been magical as Disney always is, but financial and attendance problems, work-related suicides , and other issues would impact Disneyland Paris for years. Euro Disney was an idea that began in 1985, opened in 1992 and has continued to remain active to this day. Disneyland Paris, all financial and other matters aside, is compared to Disney World in the United States. The similarities are remarkable. Seeing the success of Disney World, many companies, such as Coca Cola, jumped at the opportunity to participate in the Euro Disney prophet (Joce 1-2). Those companies may not have known that having a part in Disney's new expansion would also cause them to be included in multiple problems to come. With a combination of problems and the magic of Disney, Euro Disney was guaranteed to have an interesting timeline. In December 1985, a Walt Disney Company worker and the French Prime Minister signed a letter of intent. The letter of intent was to officially say that the town of Marne la Vallée would be transformed into a tourist attraction called Euro Disney. There were two places where the park could have been built. The original idea was to locate the park near the coast of the Mediterranean Sea. This was an idea because other parks, such as Disney World and Disneyland in the United States, have such warm weather for many seasons of the year which helps their attendance. Euro Disney would not be built in a location with a favorable climate, but in an attraction area close to the famous city of Paris. The size of the first areas built by Euro Disney occupied approximately 4,800 acres to make two diff... halves of paper ...... and Paris Park will be close to making a profit by getting out of debt. (Schott)Disneyland Paris, to this day, is still one of Europe's top tourist attractions. Despite problems with money, popularity and maintaining the park up to Disney standards, Euro Disney is a success in many ways. The park took a risk by expanding while in debt, but those expansions will pay off after years of renovations. Euro Disney's reputation is affected by the horrible planning and overbudgeting that occurred. Also from the working conditions in which some cast members could not accept working every day. The prices offered to visitors are not always considered noteworthy, especially when compared to Walt Disney World. Overall, Disneyland Paris has many areas that need repairs, but the park is still in operation and appears to be moving on to bigger and better things to come.
