Cyberbullying is the use of electronic communication to intimidate a person, typically by sending threatening or intimidating messages. There are many different forms of cyberbullying. Harassing someone using text messages or instant messages and threatening them is considered cyberbullying. Impersonate someone; create fake accounts and post rude comments about the victim. Using embarrassing photos of someone and posting them without their permission. There are many different things that are considered cyberbullying. Cyberbullying is a very cruel and harmful thing to do. The internet gives people a false sense of security, power and people behave like they normally wouldn't. Cyberbullying may seem like a small thing since there is no physical contact, but in reality it can hurt even more than the real thing. Behind those monitors there are real people with real feelings; some have been driven to depression, some to physical bullying, and some to suicide. that person or perhaps even themselves” (Parks 17). There are many effects on victims due to cyberbullying such as depression, harm to self, loss of friendship and sometimes harm to other people. “While some observers urge schools to become more involved in the growing problem, pointing out that widespread cyberbullying can lead to feelings in victims such as desperation that they might be driven to take their own lives, as has already happened, other experts oppose the idea. of schools trying to control what students say online and off campus” (“School administrators hesitate to punish cyberbullying… middle of paper… people aren't using social networks responsibly and you don't find out what's going on wrong to hit someone on the computer screen. Cyberbullying can be very harmful and is a very dangerous behavior to engage in. Children are killing themselves over posts, images and videos posted on the Internet by numerous people is fueled by technology and otherwise it will only get worse as technology becomes more widespread. Hopefully this will convince young people and parents to reduce cyberbullying. Anyone who encounters someone who is being bullied should advocate for that person and report the problem to a trusted adult. Making someone suffer as a joke is not funny and you should take care of it. Young adolescents and children should not feel worthless or unaccepted.
