I have a great passion for science and technology; I have been interested in them for as long as I can remember. I was intrigued by all the chemicals, formulas, elements and all the mathematics involved. As far as technology goes, I've always loved playing with computers, being able to see how they work inside and out fascinated me. Now I'm able to see this becoming something of the future and hopefully I can be part of something bigger, something that will advance into a new era in history. This is something I love and I will make it a reality. Now that it comes time to decide what I want to be, I'm leaning more towards technology, so this will be based on a computer scientist's point of view. Computer scientists are the designers, creators, and inventors of new technologies. The widespread and growing use of computers and information technology has created a need for highly skilled and innovative workers with extensive academic experience. By creating new technologies or finding alternative uses for existing resources, they solve complex business, scientific, and general computing problems. Some computer scientists work on many types of projects, such as collaborating with electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, and other specialists to complete their tasks. Computer scientists conduct research on a wide selection of topics. They include computer hardware architecture, virtual reality, and robotics. They design computer chips and processors, using new materials and techniques to make them run faster and give them more computing power. When working with virtual reality, scientists use the technology to create realistic situations. Computer scientists working with robotics try to create machines that can do consulting work in a specific area. The average annual salary for computer scientists and computer scientists was $97,970 as of May 2008. The middle 50 percent earned between $75,340 and $124,370. The lowest 10% earned less than $57,480, while the highest 10% earned more than $151,250. In May 2008, the average annual salaries of computer and information scientists employed in computer systems design and related services were $99,900.
