Educational Retirement BenefitsWhile there are a myriad of possible sources of conflict in any workplace, those in this case are quite explicit. These include personal differences, informal shortcomings, role incompatibility, environmental stress, perceptions and expectations. Personal differences could be related to personal values, physiognomies, family ties and material possessions. Additionally, job performance, education, knowledge, and training tend to shape each individual distinctively, and unfortunately, some personalities simply don't mix. For example, it is obvious that some of the senior partners simply did not agree with the personality and aggressive character of Mike Roth, which caused a colossal clash within the company. Informal deficiencies occur when there is some sort of communication breakdown regarding any type of work environment. For example, Dan Richardson and the senior partners at Educational Pension Investments (EPI) had a different view on which company they should invest in than Roth's ideas. Roth wanted the company to invest in new technological trends, which infuriated senior EPI members due to their old-fashioned and conservative approach to business. Role incompatibility occurs when there are two or more people who simply do not get along on any phase of the project. For example, Mike Roth's inability to stay in the same job for an extended period due to workplace incompatibility or personal conflict. Environmental stress is another problem in any workplace because it affects our overall work performance. These stressors can include problems at home, workplace friction with another employee, and health problems.
