Pepsi may have generated more revenue in 2011 than Coca Cola, but its arch-rival sold $28 billion worth of soda while Pepsi sold only 12 billion dollars. In 1975 there was a huge controversy between Coca Cola and Pepsi regarding blind taste. Although Pepsi had been competing for market share since Pepsi-Cola was founded in 1889, this blind test went in Pepsi's favor as more people in the blind taste test said they preferred Pepsi to Coca Cola.
