Pain is one of the worst things a person can experience and remains a part of everyone's daily life. People can experience pain in everything they do, whether it is school, sports, love, work, or family. Although it is difficult to endure pain, there are two different types of pain that everyone experiences throughout their lives: physical and psychological. Children who ride bicycles can fall, scrape their knees and experience the physical terror of pain. A scholar can receive a bad grade on a forty-page research paper that took weeks to compose and endure the pain of failing an important assignment. Or pain can be found in the heart of a person who has lost the love of their life. Pain is one of those things that is ultimately inevitable and impossible to predict. Pain seems to be just another part of life. The word "pain" comes from the word "penalty". When people exhibit irresponsible or bad behavior, they face punishment as a consequence of their behavior. This penalty initially may be the pain itself. When a curious child sees a glass stovetop, they may not be aware of the horrendous heat that lies beneath the beautiful glass. The moment the child's delicate fingers come into contact with the four hundred degree glass, they immediately experience the terrible burning sensation that causes the child extreme pain. Because of this pain, the child will learn the lesson to never touch the stove again due to the searing heat underneath. Because of pain, people learn not to make the same mistakes twice. Seeing a dog being walked by its owner can trigger a strong urge to pet it. But, if the dog showed signs to ward off unfamiliar guests, the person may not see the signs if he or she has… middle of paper… happy memories are replaced by the terrible pain that the loss has impacted negative about a person. Pain in the world is inevitable. It can be good, but it can also be bad. The biological reason we feel pain is because it tells people it can harm their body. The downside of pain is that it can cause fear and the cause of pain can ruin parts of a person's body. But the good thing about pain is that it teaches people not to make the same mistakes again. It leaves scars to remind people daily of the mistakes we have endured in a person's life. As humans age, they adapt to pain, experience new types of pain, and tolerate old types of pain. It's about everyday life. It will never go away. Pain warns humans of the horrors of the outside world and enlightens people of the horrors within as well. After all, pain is just another part of life.
