He was very overwhelmed when he became a new father, but things soon changed in his second marriage. She was more welcoming to parenthood than in her first marriage. His first marriage was becoming a burden on his life and research. After the divorce, the isolation allowed him to reflect and process the things that were happening in his life. It allows him to reflect on the importance of a mother and how she affects a child's needs. His personality influenced everyone, not just him. I concluded that perhaps he did not have much affection or that his needs as a child were not met, which made him unable to maintain a healthy relationship nor was he able to provide a healthy relationship with his children. I found the book most helpful in understanding the effects that childhood experiences might impact
