Ukraine and the European Union. Ukraine is currently in the process of signing an association agreement with the European Union. According to Ukrainian policy, Ukraine has fulfilled all conditions set by EU officials. Ukraine plays a significant role in relations between Russia and Europe. Global trade and future financial crises are also linked to this integration process. The EU, especially Germany, tries to drag Ukraine into its zone of influence and begins to close the country's industrial enterprises, as was done before in new democracies. Germany today is the locomotive of the European economy. By solving financial policies almost single-handedly, the Germans have enormous influence on the rest of Europe. On the other hand, the United States is also interested in this integration process. The long-term goal for the United States is: Ukraine – a member of NATO and a military base in Sevastopol.
