In World War I and Vietnam War, soldiers used tools such as guns, medications to keep them calm, first aid kits, body combat weapons by body, food rations, a form of communication such as walkie talkies or morse code. Because of the different types of terrain the soldiers would find themselves in, different tools would be needed to help them survive. On rocky terrain, for example, they may wear heavier, more durable boots to continue walking on the terrain. “When a mission took them to the mountains, they brought mosquito nets, machetes, canvas tarps and extra bug juice.” In World War I, American soldiers traveled by sea to places like Europe, the Middle East, and Asia so they could go and fight in the war.
