Feels that caregivers do not trust their children and prefer to give them commands instead. I see some similarities between my life and my experiences that I found in the text. When I was growing up, I pretty much had a childhood. My sister and I will play outside and do things without being supervised by my parents. We were able to explore outside and make up games to play with other children. When it rains and snows my sister and I will use our imagination and create games like house or school. My parents didn't control our childhood, create activities, or tell me what to do in our free time. I was practically free. But as I grew up, my parents started getting involved in my life and planning my future. The concept of worldview, prejudices and assumptions used in the text is that parents make it difficult for their children to interact with their surroundings because this ends up with consequences. Ellen argues that a child should learn to use their imagination instead of following rules.
