There are many amazing planes that fascinate me and hold their attention, but my one-time favorites have always been the Legendary Warbirds. I have seen many inspiring films about them such as Red Tails. My top 4 warplanes during WWII are Spitfire, Bf109, F4U-CORSAIR, A6M Zero. These airplanes had an impact on the history of aviation. One of the most legendary fighters in the sky came from Germany. Willy Messerschmitt and Walter Rethel took the most powerful engine and mounted it on the smallest fuselage they could get their hands on and the result was the BF109. This plane was 28 feet long, with a wingspan of 32 feet and a speed of 452 miles per hour at 19,685 feet. The Bf109 was considered one of the best warplanes due to its innovative design, adaptability, longevity in service and huge production numbers. During World War II, over 35,000 examples of this type of aircraft were built using the 680 HP liquid-cooled Junkers Jumo 210A engine. Once it entered service in 1935, the Bf109 was used in the Spanish Civil War until the end of World War II in 1945 and in the Israeli War of Independence in 1948 as a front-line aircraft....
