Though many people don't like changes, but it helps to get out of your comfort zone. At the UCF Community Care Center it was necessary to change bad habits, such as not arriving at work on time and behaving badly on social media by speaking badly of your boss on social media, not only are you degrading your boss, but he or she is also degrading the UCF Community Care Center. James Hunter's book on being a servant leader also influenced how I handled and recognized ethical components on a daily basis and how to make quick decisions, for example, we were experiencing some ethical issues at the facility, such as patient records being left opened and were not stored properly and securely on the computer in the electronic medical record (EMR) program, so I had to take matters into my own hands and make the front desk assistant understand that the patient files needed to be secure and stored properly. The book teaches me how to calmly talk to my employees when they slow down and don't do their job effectively without demanding them. I have also learned to appreciate my staff members, and when they have done an exceptional job, I do my best to recognize all the good things they are doing at the facility and reward my staff members so they know I appreciate all the their hard work and dedication they are putting in
