With the name “superspecies” we try to change the characteristics of the world and control nature with science. With science, a lot of technology has been invented to support people's demand for products. Without anticipating the negative consequences, sometimes the invention causes more damage than it will cause later. In 1930, DDT used to kill insects was discovered by Paul Mueller, who worked for the Geigy chemical company in Switzerland. For this reason, the benefits deriving from the use of DDT immediately appeared evident (65). Years later, the incredible side effect of using DDT was discovered. As biologists studied the decline of eagles and hawks, they discovered the previously known phenomenon of “biomagnification,” whose compounds accumulate as they are ingested up the food chain (67).
