Home school vs. public school There is a constant debate about whether or not homeschooling works and, if it works, how it compares to public school. More parents should consider homeschooling their children rather than sending them to public school due to family values, religious views, refined social skills, and higher educational opportunities. With time-consuming social and academic activities and intense pressures to excel in social cliques causing downgrading of family relationships, public school presents a hindrance to family relationships. In reality, the best way to get along with your family is to be with them for a significant amount of time. With more free, flexible time and attention to family, homeschooling provides brilliant rewards in this area, are the beliefs of authors Amy and Frank Vahid. Author Lisa Rivero believes that since homeschooling parents devote much of their day to their children, homeschooling is harsh parenting. Even if parents and children initially have a healthy connection, the added time offers the opportunity to increase that connection and appreciate being together more. This will most likely lead to having to deal with some challenging issues that would not normally be addressed as they would normally come up in the classroom. Homeschooling parents tend to be more involved in their children's social life than parents who send them to school. Homeschooling will not miraculously repair pitiful parent-child connections. Although it will offer a valuable opportunity to improve your talent as a parent and design the connection you want to have with your children.
