ConclusionPham Pantoja 1The conflict in Kosovo does not reflect for us the racial and religious intolerance demonstrated by the Serbs towards ethnic Albanians. The current situation is the evacuation of all Albanians from Kosovo. This situation began in February 1990 after fighting broke out between Albanians, the police and the Slavic minority (Satyendra, paragraph 2). Many other situations that occurred in the past have contributed to the conflict that is occurring now. The conflict between Serbs and Albanians shows us the amount of intolerance towards religious, political and racial conflicts throughout the history of relations between Serbs and Albanians. The history of Kosovo has been very turbulent and conflicts have arisen with every incident that has occurred. About 600 years ago, the Serbs faced the Turkish invader on June 15, 1389 in their homeland, resulting in the Battle of Kosovo. The Serbs were led by Prince Lazar and fought brilliantly to the end. Even though he was wounded, captured and beheaded by the Turks (Satyendra, paragraph 1, “Kosovo is deeply rooted in the psyche of the Serbian people”). One of the first conflicts occurred in 1913 with small groups of Albanian rebels, known as kacak, protesting against a Serbian officer in September. He had tried to rape an Albanian woman but the woman's husband shot...... in the middle of paper......circulating around; religious, political and racial conflicts within Kosovo.
