Clothing companies use a lot of cotton in their production and one way H&M respects the environment is by using organic cotton. By 2020, H&M aims to ensure that organic cotton comes from 100% sustainable sources. H&M is also planning to launch a denim collection made from recycled garments that have been returned to stores. H&M's Code of Conduct requires many of its business partners to respect the environment. Their factories must have properly labeled and stored chemical containers, with a spreadsheet to track the amount of waste released into the environment. They are also aware that some parts of the world do not have clean water. H&M monitors water consumption in factories and treats the water before it leaves the factory. Any hazardous waste within the factories must be treated responsibly. Their Code of Conduct states: “Quality also means that our products must be manufactured in an environmentally and socially sustainable way.” H&M's business strategy is to provide the world with fashion and quality at the best price. They are leading by becoming a more environmentally ethical company. It may be difficult for H&M to have full control of their company and all factories, but they are taking the right steps to become one of the most ethical clothing manufacturers
