At first, when the two first meet, you might imagine that they won't get along due to their completely opposite personalities. Ashburn comes into the situation very focused and ready to get to work knowing that if she does well in this case she will get a big promotion. Mullins doesn't take well to teamwork and has no desire to work with Ashburn on this drug case even though he knows he has to. They're working on a big case and they both want respect, but they don't think they need each other to track down this drug kingpin. Ashburn can't stand Mullin's foul mouth or the way he does his job because it's very disorganized to her. Mullins also doesn't care much for Ashburn because of the haughty way she presents herself and especially hates the way she dresses and even teases her by calling her that she looked like a bank teller and Mullins took scissors to her clothes to make her sound not so professional in hopes that it doesn't ruin the case. Soon after Ashburn and Mullins start working together and overcome their egos, they become great partners who have a lot to offer.
