Symptoms depend on the location of the demyelination and the severity of the damage (NMSS, 2014). Early symptoms can range from muscle spasms, vision loss, balance problems, incontinence, tremors or even depression (MSF, 2009). Symptoms may also start strong and not appear for distant periods of time or come on quickly and at once. Symptoms depend on where the damage is located in the sensory neurons, neurons, or cerebellum. Sensory neurons are neurons that bring pain and sensations to the body, while motor neurons perform actions and movements (MSF, 2009). The cerebellum is responsible for speech, balance, tremors and fine coordination (Lucchinetti, 2011). Patients can go through phases of severe attacks and remissions, depending on the severity of the disease
