Topic > Comparison between Steve Jobs and Bill Gates - 1585

IntroductionSteve Jobs and Bill Gates are two of the best-known names of our generation for having been the co-founders of two great companies. Steve Jobs is the co-founder of Apple, also the founder of Pixar and NeXT. Bill Gates, best known for being the co-founder of Microsoft, the largest software company in the world. However, without a doubt, both of these men have been very successful in their professional lives mainly for the same thing and similar in their ways, but very different. Bill Gates Bill Gates was born on October 28, 1955 in Seattle, Washington. At the age of 13, he first discovered his love for computers. During his senior year, he and his friend Paul Allen developed their own company called Traf-O-Data. However, since Allen was in college, Traf-O-Data was not a success. The business, however, gave the two great insight into some things, such as how to be effective entrepreneurs and provide them with more experience. Gates was later accepted to Harvard University. After a while, Gates left Harvard to pursue his dream in the software field. In the 1970s, kids got their first break when a company in Albuquerque, New Mexico, called MITS, became interested in kids' ability to write software. Not long after, the boys were hired. In 1975 Microsoft was created. In 1978, Gates moved MITS to Bellevue, Washington, so he could be close to home. As the head of Microsoft, Bill Gates led the company to gross $2.5 million, at the age of just 23. In the span of three years, Microsoft's growth has increased tremendously. Income jumped from four million to sixteen million. In 1981 Gates was given not only the president, but also the chairman of the board. In 1983, thirty percent of the world's population was managed... by one side of paper... by the lower middle class, even considering the fact that it was adopted. Bill Gates was more of a richer family who could afford to be placed in a private school. Steve Jobs and Bill Gates were also rivals whenever they tried to stay on top among software companies. Unfortunately, Steve Jobs has passed away. Before Jobs died, he retired in August. Bill Gates on the other hand is still alive and retired in 2008. Conclusion Steve Jobs and Bill Gates are two of the most dedicated and committed co-owners of this time. The valid points I made in my article support the fact that they worked hard to realize their dream of owning their own business, both of them later succeeded, leaving a mark in the software business forever. These two men are a great inspiration and with their work they demonstrate that you have to work hard to make your dreams come true, to get the result you want.
