I treat others respectably because, although there are some white people who believe in the outdated idea that they are a superior race, there are those who are respectable and considerate of others. There are white Americans who care about the least privileged and mistreated people in the world, so I have slowly moved away from my preconceived thinking that it is not possible to have a healthy, respectful relationship with someone of a different race than myself. But I currently feel that discrimination between different racial groups is on the rise in America due to the offensive messages broadcast nationwide by Donald Trump's presidential campaign. It exclusively uses illegal immigrants from Mexico as scapegoats for American crimes and denounces various other races. His backward ideas are in the national headlines virtually every day, the progress this country has made in trying to achieve racial equality seems to be shrinking thanks to him. I try to address this discrimination against people of my race and others by hoping that the American people will be wise and stop supporting it. I am very afraid for the future of America when I watch its demonstrations and the way its protesters of color are treated. The discrimination is not limited to those present but also to the people watching it unfold
