Mary Wollstonecraft, often known as the mother of women's rights, published her major work, "A Vindication of the Rights of Woman" in 1792. She is considered one of the first feminist writers . The book is a work of non-fiction and addresses political and moral issues as they relate to women of her time. At the time of his birth, London grew in literature and science through numerous published works. This literary and scientific growth was called the Age of Enlightenment. Other famous writers in this period were Alexander Pope and Jonathan Swift. Better scientific learning became possible thanks to new inventions such as the microscope. When Mary was a child, she loved nature and as she grew older she believed that nature was a source of “resourcefulness” and “intelligence” for women. In her writings as an adult, she praised nature rather than the domestic homes where women often stayed. She believed that experiencing nature was more enriching than the traditional household chores that society expected women to know, such as sewing, piano, or dancing. He believed that nature contained more wisdom than could be learned within the home. Although the girls had little education, she attended school in Beverly. Because of her formal education, she was widely read by the time she published her greatest work. The knowledge she had to write the book was gained by herself and other friends of hers who also read a lot. In her family life, as a child she grew up with an abusive father who took advantage of her mother and mistreated pets. This led her to question the role of male authority which she felt was unfair due to her father's abuse. Mary's moody nature is believed to stem from her father. How the f......middle of paper......ace the same idea that they are inferior to men. Her work reaches a wide audience of women, as well as men who believe in women's equality. The problem it addresses is not only universal but also persists over time as equality between men and women is an issue even today. There is also a lot of progress with a woman being able to run for president in America today. However, in other countries women are still seen as inferior to men. For women still seeking equal rights today, her work is still as valuable as it was for women in the eighteenth century. In his work he addresses every "human being" and also addresses men. Today, the number of men pushing for women's rights is increasing, unlike in the past, when it was mainly women who fought for women's rights and less men. She has become an important voice for both men and women.
