Musicals: at the Splendid or in Technological FilmsIt is curious to see the great star of the musical Wicked on Broadway, Indina Menzel, giving the voice to a character in the Disney film, Frozen. This film, which is an example of success, won numerous awards, including the Oscar for best animated film and music. But does a musical produced in a theater like Les Miserables or Chicago have the same success and prestige as the film version? The advancement of technology in the field of cinema that has made it possible to adapt and improve book stories, real events and, of course, musical theater plays, makes everyone think that the answer is no. So, although musicals produced in the theater and for the cinema are very similar in presentation, they have some differences, such as the audience and the production, which make one more successful than the other. The audience is an important factor in determining the success of a show. We know that there is no show without an audience. Performances of musicals are known for their audience numbers, which reached 11.57 million viewers in the 2013 season, according to the Broadway League (nd). However, audience numbers have declined since the peak of musicals' popularity in the last century. The first reason for this is that the spectators of musical theater performances were a more specific group, for example wealthy and intellectual people who attended this type of performances, and this pattern has been constant to this day, as can be seen in the price of a Broadway show that is very expensive. Secondly, spectators have to go where the shows are staged, which makes live presentation... middle of paper... g is very popular in musical theater presentations because it is a thing to entertain the audience. This tool is also often found in films, not common in animation, but used. Even though there are differences such as the audience and the production, the magic of watching the dance, singing and acting show is the same. This kind of art would be enjoyed by people through the stage or a film production. However, in both ways of evaluation, it is something beautiful to appreciate.
