Almost a decade ago, Americans experienced one of the worst attacks on their homeland. Since that day, Americans have gone to Iraq, Pakistan, Iran and other neighboring countries in search of the leader of the attacks, Osama Bin Laden. On May 2, 2011, America finally killed this man. This man who left his parents childless. This man who created orphans from children. This man who made men and women widowed. This man who devastated a nation and every family within it. This man has now been killed and justice has been brought across the country. Our current president, Barack Obama, gave a speech to the American people that made them remember how they felt that day when Bin Laden got what he wanted; Recounting the events that led to Osama's death, Obama gave a speech that made Americans feel safe and loyal to their country again. Through pathos, repetition and anecdotes, Obama manages to get the attention of all Americans, for and against him, to remember 9/11 and inform them of the justice that was served, while also attempting to achieve approval for the 2012 elections. September 11, 2001: hijacked planes, collapsed towers, smoke, fire, confusion, death. September 11th is a day no living American will ever forget. George W. Bush, then president, decided that a war with Al-Qaeda would be the best option at the time, and most Americans agreed. The war in Afghanistan began on October 7, 2011; America sent troops to Afghanistan which later spread to Iraq, Iran, Pakistan and other neighboring countries which could lead us to capture Bin Laden (Source.2). The search has finally ended nearly a decade after 9/11, two and a half years after Obama's actions began, our country is finally able to breathe a sigh of relief that it is no longer threatened by Bin Laden .
