Gun control advocates say that gun ownership is the reason for all gun violence and that gun control will be effective in confiscating nearly all guns. Right now a person can purchase a gun quite easily and have it at his disposal whenever he needs it. Some of these people are not educated on the correct use of weapons. Some people don't know how to properly store a gun or don't know what basic gun safety tips are. This is why there are a large number of unnecessary and preventable deaths. These can include suicide, accidents and violence due to the availability of weapons. This may be true because in some cases people acted on impulse and weapons were available. It is true that in some cases gun violence may have been prevented through gun control, particularly in criminals who acted on impulse. Gun control advocates believe illegal gun sales will also be stopped. The government can impose harsher punishments and tougher laws to decrease gun sales once they become illegal. It will take a lot of work, trial and error because we cannot predict the outcome of the firearms ban. They vary from state to state, so even states that have already implemented some form of gun control could not be used as a gun control system
