When I imagine living a life without social networks, I imagine more time to think about important things, not about status updates or how many likes I might get on a certain post. I see myself as satisfied with what I have, where I am and who I am. After experiencing a social media fast I became aware of the negative and dangerous effects it had on myself and the relationships I had with others. Social networks occupied me and took me away from reality, it was an insidious resting place. Life is more than just getting a certain number of likes or having a certain number of followers. As Defined: Social networking is the use of dedicated websites and applications to communicate informally with users or to find people with similar interests to one's own. The definition seems innocent, but what it doesn't understand is the addiction it brings and holds you captive without realizing it. Since I was diagnosed with an irregular heartbeat I have had to eliminate caffeine from my diet. For a caffeine addict, it wasn't easy. I drank up to 10 cups of coffee a day as an antidote to calm my anxiety...
