Practical Objective The main purpose of the On-the-Job Training (OJT) program is to provide students with appropriate training related to their field of study and future work. The training institute offers the required practical and hands-on experience through assignments and techniques carried out within its organization, with the aim of improving students' learning, skills and character. Educational Advantage The importance of on-the-job training program is that after graduation, it allows students to easily adapt to the workplace considering the practical and theoretical knowledge gained from the program. Additionally, essential skills such as communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work in a team, are likely to be improved. This helps students achieve optimal job performance, which can lead to further job opportunities at higher levels. Scope of Work As an industrial intern of a mechatronics undergraduate student, my job included accompanying my practicum supervisors at all times to company plants to observe their work practices. This was crucial in learning how to perform specific tasks under their supervision. These tasks include those related to mechanics, such as inspecting and replacing filters, worn parts and lubricating bending, cutting and shearing machine parts. I also regularly checked the parallelism of the spoke and back gauge. Work Problems and Concerns: When the worker turned on the water jet and changed the pressure from high to low, the intensifier's hydraulic piston moved faster in one direction than the pump could handle. The immediate solution I offered was to turn off the cutting head and then turn on the pump to allow the pressure to build up properly. There was a safety hazard on one of the machines where the wires were exposed. I reported this to my supervisor and had one of the technicians replace the exposed wires and conduct a full inspection of the component. Recommendation During the training, I received incredible hands-on experience that developed my technical and practical knowledge, as well as various useful qualities and skills that would significantly contribute to my success in mechatronics engineering. Conclusion In conclusion, my education provided me with high quality hands-on experience that involved practical applications of the theories I learned from my Mechatronics Engineering program at AMA International University Bahrain (AMAIUB).
