I. INTRODUCTIONChristianity in Africa is not a recent fact nor is it a product of colonialism if we go back to the time of the apostle. Christianity in most areas had to deal with the struggle with Islam in the following centuries, the Christian religion suffered to some extent, but did not disappear. Christianity flourished in the northern part of this continent years before Islam was born. Christianity in North Africa appeared to be well established, deeply rooted and firmly guided. The question to ask therefore is: why then did Christianity die out of North Africa when Islam has made great progress over the centuries? Was there anything unique about North Africa? Did Muslims use a different technique in North Africa than in other areas they invaded? An overview of this assignment will give the death of Christianity from North Africa finding it primary and decisive cause in a unique form.II. CHRISTIANITY IN AFRICA Although the European worlds sought to claim Christianity as their religion, the teachings of Christianity are of universal application. Musa AB Gaiya noted that “There is strength in the Christian presence in Africa, which dates back to the apostolic period. It first entered Egypt and quickly spread to other parts of North Africa, namely Ethiopia, Nubia and the Maghreb area. This means that Christianity was Indigenized as Africa itself was instrumental in spreading the Gospel,” this meant that Christianity was not considered a foreign religion. “Historically, Christianity thrived in Africa long before it reached the United States and the English, where most Protestant missionaries come from. We can therefore define Christianity as an African religion." We could be there... in the middle of the paper... at, and yet it survived and still survives as an oppressed BibliographyBaur John. 2000 Years of Christianity in Africa: A History of the African Church.
