The aim is to gain greater advantages in the mobile industry as a successful technology company. The acquisition of Nokia brought Microsoft extraordinary production capacity in the smartphone sector. Microsoft could leverage Nokia's productivity and logistics to differentiate itself in the smartphone industry. The acquisition would help both companies withstand the competition, as competition is becoming increasingly fierce as innovation occurs every day in the technology sector.
