Car pollution is a major problem in our ecosystem and everyday life. Automotive pollution not only affects crops, plants, trees and many other resources, but also causes risks to human health. Many problems are caused by car pollution; Unfortunately this is something that happens every day. Car pollution could be reduced in many ways. But can a few people prevent car pollution? No. Everyone should participate in some way. The problem with car pollution is that it not only affects our environment, but also affects human health and the ozone layer. For example, car pollution affects the environment through greenhouse gases, which are the main pollutants that enter the atmosphere from a car. Greenhouse gases affect the ozone layer because they are the main pollutants that enter the atmosphere from cars and trucks. Greenhouse gases are made up of pollutants, such as carbon dioxide. “They make up more than a fifth of the pollutants causing global warming in the United States.” (ucsusa)McHugh 2Car pollution has many causes and its effects. The main causes of car pollution are due to people failing to carpool, combine errands into one trip, take multiple public transportation, or perhaps even shop by phone. The easiest ways can always be walking or cycling, but not everyone likes to do these things. So when you drive more cars than necessary, you put many more types of unnecessary pollutants into our atmosphere. Cars emit many types of pollutants, such as “particulate matter, hydrocarbons, nitrogen oxides, carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide, hazardous air pollutants, and greenhouse gases.” (ucsusa). All these pollutants have their own effects on the environment or human health, some are minor, some major. Particulate matter... at the center of the paper... not only us, but also our crops and our plants. . Greenhouse gases represent an important part of the atmospheric problem. This gas enters our food chain, making meat unhealthy for human consumption. Particulate matter, hydrocarbons, nitrogen oxides, carbon monoxide, McHugh 4 sulfur oxide, hazardous air pollutants, and greenhouse gases are all substances that are emitted into our atmosphere from automobile exhaust. The solutions to this problem are as easy as walking or cycling. Simple, right? But not everyone is willing to make this effort to help prevent car pollution. McHugh 5 Works Cited Baxter, Eric.
