The architectural basis of Taj Mahal is revolutionary. The Taj Mahal is nearly 250 feet tall and is located within a walled enclosure measuring approximately 1,000 x 1,860 feet and encompassing an area of forty-two acres (Bagley, 1979 pp. 9). This monumental piece of architecture still stands today. It was built with pure white marble and incorporates sumptuous ornamentation said to have come from all over the world, such as Afghanistan, Egypt, China and even Russia. However, it is known that the use of red stone and bricks are the main building materials used in making the Taj Mahal but the use of white marble is more expressive and shows a high standard of pure elegance that the Taj Mahal embodies in all aspects. of its architecture
