TQM aims to improve customer satisfaction, therefore offers the prospect of excellent market share and profitability. Some hospitals are not entirely concerned with what their “customers” think because they will get their money in the end. Through research, I have found a consensus that TQM can play an important role in a hospital's competitive advantage in managing healthcare system quality. With TQM, high quality management and leadership is required in every situation. Without this, things will never change and grow. Furthermore, changing positions could help increase the amount of knowledge and new ideas. Total quality management must include leadership and support from top management, employee involvement, systems thinking, continuous improvement and data-driven decisions
