An energetic generation that lost all its dreams and had nothing but desperation in its senescence, a generation that wanted to change the world but not only they might not change the world but they can't change themselves either. (Death of a Salesman: Text and Criticism by Gerald Weales) Arthur Miller's play in brief is about a 63-year-old salesman named Willy Loman whose work and life face stagnation and every day becomes much more difficult for him to provide the necessities of life. He has worked for 34 years for Wagner's company and before that he was in the service of old Wagner and now he is in the service of his son, but Wagner's son ignores his 34 years of past and fires him and the chain of events leads to his suicide. of Arthur Miller's work is the disastrous life of a man, as Miller himself stated, "a man who has no control and authority over his own life". (“Death of a Salesman: What's Wrong with Assisted Suicide?” Brian P. Johnston Page VI). The central question is how can the human being, as a biological creature created from body and soul and whose form and vital structure are determined by capitalist society, continue its way of life under these conditions? And being old and all the problems that come with it are a mere excuse for tolerating life in a society governed by the bourgeoisie. Until a few decades ago and even now some people like Michael Rothschild in his Bionomics to justify the problems caused by capitalism say that it is a natural and inevitable phenomenon and for anyone who doubts the function and functioning of capitalism they have made it clear that there is nothing else way around it and that man has no control over it, that it is nature that decides and imposes capitalism. (Biomes...... middle of paper ......d who really do everything they can to help Willy, and yet Willy still refuses to listen to them. The epilogue, or conclusion, occurs when Willy leaves and he crashes, apparently committing suicide, and his wife says at his funeral, "Willy, it seems to me you're just on another trip. I made the last house payment today. "There'll be no one home." Works Cited 1.
