experience of going to places and seeing things where something historic or surprising happened, or seeing a view so beautiful that I can't even grasp the beauty of it. When I travel I have enormous amounts of time for myself. It's nice and quiet. I can lose all my worries in the many different and beautiful places I visit. The most pleasant and longest trip I have taken so far was in 2001, when I was ten; I traveled all over the United States for five weeks! Everything about the trip was enjoyable. Getting ready was also enjoyable. I had to take into consideration the multitude of different circumstances I would find myself in, such as the weather, the places I would visit and what I would do. Then I helped my mother and grandfather pack all the other things we needed like food, refrigerators, maps and car accessories. It seems like a lot of work but, as a child, I loved helping prepare for the trip. My anticipation for this trip was great. I couldn't get it out of my mind. My family was the same way. Whenever I went to the store with my mother, I always asked her if we needed anything for the trip. I really started to annoy her. Finally, when my family and I left, I couldn't wait to get on the highway, then I couldn't wait to go sixty miles down the road, and so on. I actually didn't feel like I was traveling until we were several hours from our home. I visited many places in those 5 weeks, but the most memorable places were The Gateway Arch, Oregon, Redwoods National Forest, Yellowstone National Park and The Grand Canyon. The Gateway Arch is an extraordinary feat. It stands at its peak 665 feet tall. I had a blast there. At the top of the arch there is a room with windows from which you can admire all of St. Louis. Which......middle of paper......the picture is worth a thousand words so the sight of these places is priceless. If you have been to these places you undoubtedly feel like me. I will remember these beautiful places in every way and when I see a photo that tries to capture the beauty of these places that I have been too, I will see those places in my head the same way I saw them in person while standing on the edge of the The Grand Canyon watches as the Colorado River continues to carve the canyon as it has for countless centuries. With the wind flowing softly around me, standing inside a huge redwood tree hidden in time and safe from the world, and the cool nights and open spaces with nothing around me but a vast universe above my head . When I'm traveling from place to place, I don't feel like I have any limits. Nothing will ever be more beautiful than actually being there.
