I'm not afraid of taking risks, nor of failing and trying again. Even though I have had my setbacks, I will not stop because becoming a doctor is not just about me. There aren't many doctors who look like me in the United States and around the world. I have a greater responsibility to those who may not have access to adequate care or lack confidence in the field for reasons that span historically and culturally among many other complexities. I am very fortunate to have had the experiences that I have had because they have given me the insight into why I want to become a doctor. To the best of my ability, I will provide the best care possible and be a mentor to those hoping to develop their learning and creative abilities. The medical process is a marathon and not the sprint I attempted to do at the beginning of my college career. The road to success is not well paved. I will get to the finish line with the skills and mindset needed to succeed
