According to statistics and data collected by the National Home Education Research Institute (NHERI), the five most common reasons why parents choose to homeschool are as follows: 1 ) there are greater opportunities to personalize and individualize the curriculum and learning environment for optimal learning conditions, 2) home is widely considered safer than public and private schools, 3) specific cultural/religious values and beliefs can be encouraged and incorporated into education, 4) homeschooling promotes strengthened relationships and family bonds, and 5) homeschooled children in North America have average scores 15 to 30 percentile points higher than public school students ( NHERI). Ultimately, however, there appears to be one common factor as to why parents choose homeschooling over other, more affordable options: It's simply better than
