“We cannot walk alone. And as we walk, we must promise that we will always march forward." Martin Luther King Jr was one of the most important people who worked hard to demolish racial discrimination and improve the lives of every single African American in the United States. He refused to hide or run away from his extreme difficulties and was firmly determined to continue fighting the civil rights issue to the end. He spoke with the words of God and looked at the world in peace and equality. Despite the horrible threats from white people, he tried and challenged even more to get on stage and give hope to all the innocent black people, as well as state his and his people's opinion on this issue. He met his wife, Corertta Scott, in Boston and together they participated in various campaigns to fight for black rights. He became a member of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People and president of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference. His teachings and dreams of justice came true after his death and continue to impact many people today. In total, he traveled six million miles moving from place to place, giving numerous speeches in which he thought there were injustices and prejudices. During the trip he wrote five books about his beliefs and experiences and published numerous articles in newspapers and magazines. Mahatma Gandhi's teachings strongly inspired the beliefs of Martin Luther King. Their beliefs were somewhat similar because Martin Luther King also believed that protests should be nonviolent. Yet Gandhi showed him how nonviolent protest could be more powerful than anything else. Martin Luther King began to articulate himself powerfully… in the middle of paper… and his personal beliefs made him the most admirable person. Death threats, threatening letters and violence against him did not stop him from avoiding the issue. During his long journey he had faced many sad things such as the death of many black people. If we were in Martin Luther King's position, it would be extremely difficult and virtually impossible to sacrifice our lives for others. Nowadays, many people tend to take the easiest route they can find and, therefore, we often fall under a deep boggy obstacle. However, from him, I learned that walking on the right path, regardless of the distance, is very important. He taught me to always try harder and even to fight if necessary, to overcome difficulties. Martin Luther King Jr. is the most admirable person and one of the few people I think respects him very much.
