Something as trivial as melanin should not stop someone from loving another person. The love between Jarad and Halee is so beautiful because they have been through so much hate, controversy, and openly ignorant people and they still love each other equally. Halee and La'Jarad believe in each other and push each other to be the best versions they could be. They have already been through a lot and survived. When my brother and Halee met, she could have easily decided to give up my brother because she knew her grandparents would be angry. But love is blind and she decided to give it a chance. Her grandparents now talk to her regularly and have accepted that she is in love with my brother. It was very hard for my brother when he found out what happened with Halee's grandparents, but they made it and their love story is what I believe in.
