Topic > Progress during the Middle Ages - 744

Have you ever wondered what the kings and queens of the Middle Ages were? Have you ever dreamed of being the shining night or the beautiful princess? Another big question is: what events occurred to cause the demise of such characters and traditions? Well, for a society to progress, change is a necessity. Events that occurred in the Middle Ages led to changes in medieval society throughout Europe. These changes can be classified as social, economic and political. An important event that contributed to social change in the medieval period was the life of Joan of Arc. Before Joan became famous in France, she was a simple peasant who often wore men's clothes. At that time, serfs were considered the last of the last and the Roman Catholic Church did not allow them to have a direct connection with God. However, after Joan led the French armies during the siege of Orleans, claiming that the had been told to do so by God, Catholic leaders felt that because Joan was a peasant, she could not hear God's voice and tried her for heresy. Twenty-five years after Joan's death at the stake, the Catholic Church declared her a saint. Joan's example was significant for a number of reasons. He demonstrated to the women that, although he was illiterate and young, he was capable of great feats such as leading the French army. Joan of Arc served as a religious role model for those living in the early Renaissance. Furthermore, the Inquisitions also contributed to change during the Middle Ages. Before the Inquisition, the people of Europe challenged the Catholic Church and began calling for reforms to end the corruption of the Church. The Inquisitions were conducted to punish those who challenged the authority of the Church and intimidated... middle of paper... and France. However, once the Great Schism occurred, many other political problems arose. The church weakened as three popes had left at the same time. There was a need to create a second council and reunify the church. Furthermore, it had led to the reformers and the reform of M. Luther. Both of these events demonstrate that they had weakened the politically adverse church and demonstrate that these events had created change. In conclusion, with the various events that occurred during the Middle Ages, they all show that social, economic and political changes developed throughout Europe. Although it took a series of fortunate and unfortunate events, the change led to the flourishing age of the Renaissance. From the night in shining armor, comes the flowering of literature, science, art, religion, politics and, above all, knowledge through learning..
