Unfortunately, Follett doesn't delve further into the context of what this integration method might look like. Change the direction of his attention to preparing for giving orders. Now, giving orders is a significant component of management, but Follett should have provided more information regarding integrating management and giving orders. Fairholm suggests: “they misunderstand the evolutionary nature of authority resulting from changing social structures, and because they have missed the opportunity to link research procedures and focus on intellectual interests such as psychology, sociology, history and political science, not just scientific management, Weberian bureaucracy and the like.” (Fairholm. 2004). Follett provides psychological perspectives, however perhaps misunderstands other perspectives, as to why further development is needed to be examined. Follett later admits that there are additional psychological factors, learning about habit development and preventative measures for giving orders far exceeds what he can explain in this article.
