Topic > Media Effects on Media and Eating Disorders

In addition to legislation, another form of solution to the media's influence on body image and eating disorders begins with education. Teens spend a significant amount of time in school and the rest in the media vortex through TV and the Internet. Parents must have control over the assets that influence their children's thinking and behavior because they are responsible for guiding them. For this reason, it is mandatory for parents to not only control what viewers their children have but also educate them through the best media such as health documentaries. It should also become a norm in school to educate children on how they should look and think, and also teach them how the media can negatively influence people. By educating children properly, fewer children will be influenced by the media and will value the words of people who know what is good for them.
